Meet our Secretary

Judith Polson

DJudith Polson is a retired school teacher who served the Anderson and Florence communities for 29 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and a Master of Science in Secondary Education from the University of South Carolina. She loved teaching and she is proud she was able to make a difference in the lives of those she taught over the years.

Judith cares deeply about people and issues which prompted her to got involved with the Democratic Party in the 1980s. Descendant of both Quakers and slavers, she feels strongly about how our society treats people, how we treat each other, and how can she make a difference to improve our society as a whole. She is deeply concerned about the children in Gaza and how our perceptions of that region have both local, national and global impact.

In 2020, Judith ran for office in Anderson county, because she is deeply affected and troubled by the amount of lies often perpetuated in our society and particularly in our current political environment. She quoted John 8:44, “When (the devil) lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” She hopes that her efforts aid in bringing back honesty, integrity and trust in our Great Nation.

Judith was raised in Greenville. Her mother was also a school teacher and her father was a Federal employee. She and her husband of 33 years, Mike, came to Anderson when her parents were aging and needed assistance. She has 2 children and 5 grandchildren, along with a brother who is also a teacher in Tennessee. Family and community are an important part of Judith’s life and she strives to create a strong and welcoming community for all.
