From: South Carolina Environmental Law Project
Anderson County Council will be voting on FILOT for Duke Energy with a dual gas powerplant roughly placed at the corner of Masters Blvd and Hwy 81 in Anderson, just below Homeland Park.
The Public Service Commission gave their approval on March 26, 2026 in spite of the issues to the wildlife, environment and health concerns.
Duke Energy is now seeking a $2.59B tax break at current cash value over 40 years, which in today’s dollars is $64,750,000 a year in tax revenue for Anderson county.
ANYONE WISHING TO SPEAK on this issue will need to sign up prior to the meeting starting time of 6:30 pm. County Council Meeting details here.
